Meek Mill has been sentenced to 2 to 4 years in prison by a Philadelphia judge. The rapper was sentenced for violating probation terms of a 2009 drug and weapons case.
Although prosecutors recommended Meek not be imprisoned for the probation violations, noting he’s been off drugs since January and has complied with most requirements of probation, but surprisingly, he was sentenced.
The rapper was sentenced on Monday, November 6, 2017, by Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley following the rapper’s arrest for fighting at a St. Louis airport and for reckless driving in New York City.
Brinkley says he’s been trying to help Meek for almost a decade, but he keeps doing whatever he wants. “Sir, I didn’t want to do this but you made me do this,” said the judge, adding that
“After all the years I tried to get you on the right track.”
