“Stop Glorifying Fraudulent Behaviour” Falz Comes For 9ice, Lord Of Ajasa & Others
Nigerian singer-songwriter, Falz The Bahd Guy, has attacked Nigerian musicians who have now made it their genre to glorify and sing the praises of Yahoo boys in their songs. This attack is directed to 9ice and Lord of Ajasa whose recent singles Living Things and Lori ila can be seen to be doing exactly that, promoting fraudsters and encouraging others to go into as a means of survival.
This statement was made in an interview where he said Nigerian artiste should sing about issues or be better story tellers rather than use their crafts to promote fraudulent acts, and with him mentioning “wire-wire”, it takes no genius for you to know that he is referring to 9ice and Lord of Ajasa who happen to be having more faith in making money through the internet in form of “Sa Se” than any other means.
In 9ice’s Living Thing, he talks about Yahoo boys and how some of his friends are practicing such illegal act. To 9ice and Lord of Ajasa, they just want to make money, no matter how, even if it has to be through Yahoo, 9ice just wants to be controlling things. The song in every aspect tilts to promoting Yahoo boys.
To Falz, this is not the song an artiste should be singing, considering he is in a position to create change. As an entertainer, Falz believes you should sing about things that will help the life of the people, paint a picture, tell a story rather than praise Yahoo boys, promote fraudulent behaviors and call “wire-wire” in your song or in the way he put it, “stop glorifying fraudulent behavior”.
